Dances for Guitar: An Evening of New Dance Music Featuring Robert Phillips

Join us Thursday, November 20th at 6pm for an evening of new dance music for classical guitar featuring soloist, Robert Phillips.

Over the course of his artistic career, Robert Phillips has commissioned over a dozen original music compositions and has been the dedicatee of music by notable composers including Meyer Kupferman, Michael Colina, Jorge Morel, and Benoit Glazer among many others.

In addition to playing guitar, Dr. Phillips has conducted ensembles, taught guitar lessons at both the pre-collegiate and collegiate level, hosted master classes in classical guitar, led professional development workshops, and lectured widely throughout the United States and internationally.

Robert holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Hofstra University, a master’s degree in music from Brooklyn College, and a Doctorate in Musical Arts from the University of Miami. 

Dr. Roberts can be heard on recordings released by TPL Records, Centaur Records, 4Tay Records, and Navona Records. He continues to publish his own compositions through Bergmann Edition. His music can be heard on most streaming platforms and on YouTube.
