Join us Friday, November 14 at 12 PM for a special Gallery Perspectives and live piano performance inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright & the College of Tomorrow.
Led by Associate Professor of Music and Director of Piano and Keyboard Studies at Florida Southern College, Fen-fang Chen, this program features performances by FSC piano students Alex Price, Jonah Terrell, Abigail Cochran, and Ezra Dyer. Together, they explore the deep connections between musical composition and Wright’s architectural design.
Wright often described his buildings in musical terms — speaking of rhythm, harmony, and the orchestration of space. He admired composers such as Beethoven and Bach for their balance of structure and emotion, qualities that found their way into his architectural “symphonies” of light and form.
Through both solo and duet performances, these young artists will interpret works that reflect the same ideals of unity, proportion, and expression that guided and inspired Wright’s own approach to design.
