Artist Bio:
Born in Düsseldorf, Germany, Susanne Schuenke studied in Cologne and London, completing her doctorate at the University of Cologne in 1986. She has lived and worked in the United States for decades while maintaining strong artistic ties to Europe.
Schuenke’s oil paintings and watercolors reflect an Old Master technical precision paired with her distinctive stylization and nuanced color palette. Her work ranges from lyrical, narrative scenes to philosophical and socio-political themes, often inviting viewers into surreal, meditative worlds where form and color engage in dynamic dialogue.
Her paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions internationally and are held in public, corporate, and private collections across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the United States.
