Get it White Oil Painting Workshop

A Kate Carney Workshop

Oil Painting, All Levels, All Inclusive

These fun, interactive workshops include a hands-on day of painting, and artists will work along with Kate learning, growing, making messes, laughing, and best of all . . . creating. After displaying an example work implementing the techniques to be learned that day, Kate then demonstrates each stage of the process as the class progresses and gives student artists the chance to work on their own paintings. The day closes with a gentle critique and discussion.

The painting shown is an example of Kate’s work, but not necessarily the one being painted in the workshop.

Saturday, September 27 | 10am to 4pm

Skill Level: Beginning to Intermediate

Instructor: Kate Carney, Professional Fine Arts Painter

Fee: $175 Members, $225 Non-Members

A highly interactive, fun oil painting workshop with award winning artist Kate Carney. Learn and grow creatively while we explore how to use luminous “whites” with reflective shadows to depict Lake Morton’s wonderful ducks. All oil paints, mediums and canvases are included. All you need are your brushes and your creative energy! (Please note that we are not reproducing this particular painting)

Supplies:

Painting materials are provided in each Kate Carney workshop, including: toned canvases, oil paints, mediums, palette knives, palettes, and references. However, students must bring their own bristle brushes. (Kate recommends Princeton’s 6300 series synthetic bristle brushes, but any bristle brushes made for oil will do.):

  • Bristle Brushes:

    • #10 Round

    • #4 Flat

    • #2 Bright

    • 20/0 Liner (tiny brush for signing)

  • ***Optional Brushes:

    • #8 Flat

    • #6 Round

    • #10 Flat Snap by Princeton white teklon

This is a great opportunity for acrylic painters to try oils without the heavy paint investment. Additionally, using our paints and canvases will make it easier for you to focus on learning techniques rather than wrestling with your paints.

Suitable for all stages of artistic experience. Please bring a packed lunch.
