Clinton Pope is a concept artist and former portrait artist whose work spans graphite, oil, digital painting, and tattooing. He clawed his way out of Michigan during the automotive industry crash by scraping together just enough funds through commissioned freelance portraits and set off for Washington, D.C. in a rusted-out car whose engine exploded on a mountainside halfway there. From that rough start, he rebuilt his life, eventually moving to Florida, launching his own business, and spending the past several years mentoring artists and exhibiting in galleries.
Clinton's philosophy is wide-ranging, but one idea grounds it all: if you wait for motivation, you’re sunk — real progress comes from determination, deliberate learning, and stubborn discipline. Clinton’s classes are blunt, honest, and focused on pushing artists forward with zero ego and just enough humor to keep things human.
