Roger Lightle is a nationally recognized Highwaymen art collector, historian, lecturer, and curator, who has spent 30 years preserving and promoting the legacy of Florida's Highwaymen artists. Over that time, he has amassed one of the most significant Highwaymen collections, including 600–700 rare and historically important paintings.
As an authority on Highwaymen art, Lightle has curated major exhibitions for museums across Florida, including long-running exhibitions at the Backus Museum and the Elliott Museum, as well as loaned the art for exhibitions at the Vero Beach Museum of Art, Selby Gardens, Ft. Lauderdale Museum of Art, Tampa Museum of Art, and others. His expertise has been featured through lectures and presentations, including at the National Arts Club in New York City. He also played a key role in the Highwaymen's acceptance into the permanent collection of The Smithsonian and contributed to the Highwaymen installations at Orlando International Airport's Terminal C.
