Scholastic Art and Writing Awards Reception
The Ashley Gibson Barnett Museum of Art is thrilled to host the nationally-renowned 104th annual Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for the Polk County, Florida Art Region.
Presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the Scholastic Awards initiative invites students grades 7-12 (ages 13 and up) to submit their original works produced across all media to have a chance to have their work recognized in the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious scholarship and recognition program.
The museum hosts several exhibitions per year in the George Jenkins Gallery that feature artwork by Polk County School District students. From each of these exhibitions, one piece is purchased by the Museum to be added to our Student Collection.
Regional Awards Ceremony:
We invite all regional award-winning students, their educators, family, and friends to attend the Polk County Art Regional Award Ceremony for the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.

The ceremony will take place in the main auditorium at Harrison School for the Arts with a reception to follow at The AGB.
