[WATCH] The Medici Dynasty: Renaissance in Florence featuring guest lecturer Dr. Rocky Ruggiero

Watch a remarkable lecture by Dr. Rocky Ruggiero on the art and politics of the Medici Empire in Italy during the 15th and 16th centuries, presented in conjunction with the Ashley Gibson Barnett Museum of Art’s exhibition The Medici Dynasty: Renaissance in Florence.

Dr. Rocky Ruggiero has been a professor of art and architectural history since 1999. He has appeared on NBC News, The History Channel’s “Engineering an Empire: Da Vinci’s World,” Nat Geo/NOVA PBS’ “Great Cathedral Mystery;” and his documentaries “Florence: The Art of Magnificence,” and “Medici: The Art of Power” aired nationally on PBS.

He is also the author of the books Brunelleschi’s Basilica: The Building of Santo Spirito in Florence and Rebuilding the Renaissance: Volume I, The Ancient Roman World.
